AirPods are such small gadgets that you panic if you open your charging case and find out that they’re not there. You go back to your steps, on the exact seat that you were wearing last but they’re not in sight. Don’t worry, we can look for your AirPods with the Find My app.


How to Connect AirPods to Find My iPhone


If your AirPods are connected to your iPhone, they're automatically set up when you turn on Find My iPhone.

Make sure that your Find My network is on. This enables the Find My app to find your devices even if they're powered off or disconnected.

Go to Settings > Bluetooth > More Info > Find My


How to Find My AirPods Through the Find My App


If you’re using the Find My app on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac and you’re signed in with the same Apple ID, you can locate your AirPods through the Find My app. First, make sure you’ve updated to the latest version of your iOS, iPadOS, or macOS.

1. Go to Find My app

2. Choose Devices

3. Select your AirPods


How to Find My AirPods Using Apple Watch


On your Apple Watch with watchOS 8.0 or higher:

1. Make sure you are connected to the internet through a Wi-Fi or cellular data connection

You may also locate your AirPods through iCloud.

1. Click iCloud Find

2. Sign in with your Apple ID

What if my AirPods are both missing but are not in the same location


You can only see one of your AirPods on the map so to locate the other, find one first and place it inside your charging case. The other AirPod should show up on your map after a refresh.


How to find AirPods when Offline


This is the same with the questions how to find AirPods if they are dead, or how to find lost AirPods that are dead. Don't worry because it is still possible. The Find My app will show the location where your AirPods were last seen online. For AirPods 3rd gen, AirPods Pro, and AirPods Max, it continues to show its actual location for up to 24 hours even if left offline.


How to reset stolen AirPods


If you need to reset your AirPods, make sure that the AirPods are inside their charging case. Close the lid of the case and wait for 30 seconds. Open it again and hold onto your device. On your device:


Go to Settings > Bluetooth > More Info > Forget This Device > Confirm.


Press and hold the setup button for about 15 seconds. The status light should flash amber and then flash white.


How to find AirPods case


We all know how important the AirPods' charging case is. It doesn't only recharge your AirPods but it's the key to pairing and resetting AirPods. You can track it through the Find My app if the AirPods or at least one of the AirPods is inside. However, it is only possible if the AirPods' case is open because otherwise, the AirPods enter charging mode and will appear offline so the location that will show in the Find My app was the last location the AirPods has emitted a signal.


Play a Sound on Your AirPods


If you are already near your device as located on the map, but still cannot seem to find your AirPods, you can play a sound to help you pinpoint where they are exactly. It works for both the Find My app on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch, and iCloud Find.

  1. Open your Find My app or through this iCloud link

  2. Choose Devices

  3. Select the AirPods you’re looking for

  4. Tap Play Sound to activate a beeping sound that gradually gets louder.

For Mac, after selecting your AirPods, click the i icon and click Play Sound.

On your Apple Watch, make sure you’re connected through Wi-Fi or cellular. Go to Find Devices > AirPods > Play Sound.

However, if your AirPods aren’t connected to the internet the sound plays the next time it connects to one.


How to Turn On Find My Network


Turn your Find My network on to be able to locate your AirPods even if you don’t have internet. You will be able to play a sound on your AirPods 3rd gen, AirPods Pro, and AirPods Max also even if you’re not connected to the internet.

On your device,

  1. Go to Settings

  2. Select your name

  3. Choose Find My

  4. Tap on Find my AirPods and then turn it on

  5. Turn on Find My Network


Mark AirPods as Lost


Marking your AirPods (3rd gen), AirPods Pro, or AirPods Max as lost lets you share a message with the one who finds your AirPods. It will activate Lost Mode and the one who finds your AirPods will see your message with your phone number and e-mail address on their home screen.

  2. Select Devices

  4. Under Notifications, toggle Notify When Left Behind on
